Walmart Must Face Suit Over Rejecting Returns During Pandemic

Walmart Inc. must defend claims alleging it failed to honor its longstanding return policy during the pandemic, after the Central District of California largely denied its motion to dismiss the would-be class lawsuit.

The plaintiffs allegations are sufficiently detailed to state a claim under California’s Consumer Legal Remedies Act, the court said.

It also said they will be allowed to pursue injunctive relief in the form of an order preventing Walmart from “continuing to implement the ‘COVID 19' return policy without proper disclosure,” and “from changing its return policy without providing adequate notice to consumers,” according to the unpublished Wednesday ...
