An objector to a consumer class settlement over allegedly defective Vitamix blenders will have to post a $40,000 bond if she wants to appeal the settlement, a federal court said Nov. 1.
The objector’s attorney, Simina Vourlis, is known to be a “serial” or “professional” objector to class settlements, Judge Susan J. Dlott wrote for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.
Her history of filing boilerplate objections suggests she’s not appealing in good faith, the court said.
