The University of Tampa’s $3.4 million settlement to resolve claims by students seeking refunds after the school canceled in-person classes and activities in early 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic has won final approval.
Judge Cathy Seibel, for the US District Court for the Southern District of New York, dismissed the lawsuit after signing off on the deal Tuesday.
The settlement class comprises students for whom tuition and fees for educational services for the spring 2020 semester was paid, and who remained enrolled as of March 1, 2020.
