Tyson, Perdue Face Chicken Broiler Price-Fixing Suit

Tyson Foods Inc., Perdue Farms Inc., Koch Foods Inc. and a number of other poultry producers conspired to fix prices in the $30 billion wholesale market for broiler chickens, plaintiffs said in a class action complaint. (Maplevale Farms Inc. v. Koch Foods Inc., N.D. Ill., 16-cv-08637, 9/2/16).

Maplevale Farms Inc. filed the suit on behalf of broiler chicken purchasers that allegedly paid supracompetitive prices as a result of the conspiracy, dating back to at least 2008.
