A consumer alleging TGI Fridays Potato Skin Snacks are deceptively portrayed as made with real potato skins has voluntarily dismissed her suit against manufacturer Inventure Foods Inc. following a settlement, according to a filing in a New York federal court.
Solange Troncoso bought a bag of chips at a New York gas station, believing they contained real potato skins like the “Potato Skins” appetizer served at TGI Fridays restaurants. The marketing is deceptive because the chips’ only potato-based ingredients are “potato flakes” and “potato starch,” neither of which contains the peels from potatoes, her would-be class suit alleged.
