Texas Age Limit on ‘Sexually Oriented Business’ Jobs Challenged

Texas’ recent amendments to three state laws to ban people under age 21 from working in “sexually oriented” businesses are unconstitutional and shouldn’t be enforced, according to a new lawsuit filed in federal court in Austin.

Felix Valadez, Luis Carrizoza, Abigail Reyes, and Amada Man sued Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, together with Texas Entertainment Association, Inc., on behalf of themselves and a proposed class. Valadez and Reyes work at an adult bookstore in Dallas, Carrizoza worked as a bouncer at an Odessa strip club, and Man was an exotic dancer in Dallas, ...
