Supreme Court Declines to Review Sam’s Club Receipt Redaction Case

The U.S. Supreme Court Jan. 26 declined to review a ruling dismissing a Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act proposed class action against Sam’s Club alleging that it printed more than the last five digits of credit card numbers on receipts (Hammer v. Sam’s E., Inc.).

The FACT Act, at 15 U.S.C. § 1681c(g)(1), bars retailers from printing more than the last five digits of a credit card number on receipts.
