A putative copyright class action against Suno Inc. belongs with other AI-training suits against the music-generation company in Boston if it’s not tossed out of court, it told a Chicago federal judge.
Suno asked the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois to reject the “forum shopping” by a group of independent artists by dismissing or transferring the case Tuesday. The company’s motion argued it has no ties to the state and is already defending two substantially overlapping suits over its generative artificial intelligence training in the District of Massachusetts, including a prior putative class action.
