Subaru Hit With Class Action Alleging Windshield Defect

The windshields on certain Subaru of America Inc. cars are prone to crack, chip, and fracture, a class complaint filed April 5 alleges.

The defect on 2015 through 2016 Subaru Outback or Legacy vehicles “poses an extreme safety defect to drivers, passengers, and pedestrians” and the cost to repair the windshields can be exorbitant, the suit says.

Subaru knew of the defect but told its dealers to systematically deny valid warranty claims or provide replacement windshields with the same defect, the suit says.
