Stonefire Naan bread consumers urged an Illinois federal court to preliminarily approve a $1.9 million nationwide class settlement resolving allegations that FGF Brands Inc. tricked them into thinking the mass-produced breads are hand-baked in traditional tandoor ovens.
The proposed deal, which gives class members $2.50 for each product purchased, is fair, reasonable, and adequate, and settlement is in the best interests of the class, plaintiff Emily Friend told the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois Monday in an unopposed motion for tentative approval.
