Starbucks ‘Doubleshot Espresso’ Suit Voluntarily Dropped

Two consumers alleging Starbucks Corp. deceived them about the amount of caffeine in “Doubleshot Espresso” canned drinks have voluntarily dismissed their suit, according to a filing in the Central District of California.

Oliver Naimi and Thomas Wessel alleged the canned coffee drinks contain “significantly less” caffeine than the 150 mg that would be found in two shots of Starbucks espresso.

Their proposed class suit suit was dismissed in 2018 but revived late last year when the Ninth Circuit said the duo raised a plausible claim that the label implies the canned drinks contain two shots of espresso but the content ...
