Samsung Defective Washer Class Counsel Seeks $6M in Fees

Class counsel for consumers alleging certain Samsung top-loading washing machines are defective asked the court overseeing the multidistrict litigation for $6 million in attorneys’ fees.

“The hard-fought agreement ensures that all of the 2.8 million class members receive adequate compensation or relief tailored to their specific circumstances,” the attorneys say.

Judge Timothy D. DeGiusti of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma granted preliminary approval to the settlement January 8.

Over 60,000 class members have filed claims so far, the brief says.
