Robert Kraft-Owned Paper Mill Reaches $103 Million Settlement

A South Carolina paper mill co-owned by New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft will pay $103 million to settle claims from a proposed class of nearby residents alleging that the plant negligently released pollutants harmful to themselves and the surrounding environment.

The plaintiffs asked the US District Court for the District of South Carolina to preliminarily approve the settlement agreement reached with New-Indy Containerboard LLC on Wednesday, according to their unopposed motion and memorandum.
