Rite Aid Resolves Wage Suit Over Clothing Policy For $12 Million

Rite Aid Corp. agreed to pay $12 million to 25,000 retail employees in California to resolve a class action over its Team Colors policy, which required them to buy and wear navy blue tops and khaki pants to work, according to a new motion for preliminary settlement approval.

The class members will split roughly $7.4 million, with each expected to receive about $365. Class counsel is seeking up to 33.33% of the total, nearly $4 million, in attorneys’ fees and $305,000 for litigation costs.
