Red Robin Assistant Manager Sues Over Unpaid OT, Missed Breaks

Burger restaurant chain Red Robin International Inc. is facing accusations in a new lawsuit filed in federal court that it violated California law by cheating at least 100 assistant managers out of overtime pay and forcing them to work through breaks.

Red Robin has a policy and practice of misclassifying assistant restaurant and kitchen managers as exempt from overtime, even though it isn’t eligible to do so because they largely perform non-exempt duties, the complaint says.
