Pheromone Product Ads Are ‘Scientifically False,’ New Suit Says

Pure Instinct brand products are falsely advertised as containing human-compatible pheromones that can influence and attract others, according to a new class action complaint filed in federal court.

India Winslow sued W.T.F.N. Inc. and Oui Lab Inc., alleging that the organ that advertisements for Pure Instinct products say they target, the vomeronasal organ, is non-functional in humans, making the claim “scientifically false.” And if they were effective, they would be considered mislabeled under California law because they’re aphrodisiac drug products that lack US Food and Drug Administration approval, the complaint says.
