Pharmavite Shakes Biotin Supplements Suit, For Now

Pharmavite LLC won temporary relief from a lawsuit accusing the maker of Nature Made dietary supplements of deceptive advertising.

The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California dismissed the class action, but gave the plaintiffs 60 days to fix their complaint.

Pharmavite sells supplements of biotin, a B-vitamin that helps metabolize food, under its Nature Made brand. The label on the supplements say they “may help support healthy hair, skin and nails.”

Such an assertion deceptive because most people get more than enough biotin from their daily diets. Only a few customers with biotin deficiencies will actually benefit ...
