PetSmart Hit With Class Action Over ‘Natural’ Pet Food Labels

PetSmart Inc. and Simply Nourish Pet Food Co. LLC were hit with a proposed class action in a New York federal court alleging their “natural” label on certain foods is deceptive because they contain synthetic ingredients.

Alexa Grossman filed suit on behalf of similarly situated consumers who said they relied on defendants’ representations that the products were “natural” when they purchased them. Simply Nourish provides a brand of pet food for the animal care retail giant.
