Prolific class action professor Linda Mullenix sued the University of Texas at Austin Dec. 12 alleging the school pays her significantly less than Professor Robert Bone, another class action scholar with comparable experience.
Over the past three years, Mullenix has been paid $134,000 less than Bone, even though Bone has less teaching experience, fewer publications, and fewer professional honors, she argues.
“This pay gap is sex discrimination,” she says.
She also alleges the law school as retaliated against her for opposing its unequal pay practices by limiting her yearly raises, denying her appointments, and making her a pariah among faculty. ...
