Chicago Parking Meters LLC, which owns the ParkChicago app, can avoid an antitrust lawsuit over its exclusive parking contract with the city, the Seventh Circuit ruled Friday.
The deal was covered by state-action immunity, the court affirmed, which allows state-authorized monopolies exemption from federal antitrust laws.
The lawsuit, filed as a class action, accused ParkChicago of inflating parking prices by more than double since its takeover in 2008.
