A temporary restraining order sought by freelance journalist Jared Goyette and others in a lawsuit claiming the news media are “under assault” by law enforcement in Minneapolis was denied by the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota.
Judge Wilhelmina M. Wright’s Tuesday ruling recognized “the gravity of Goyette’s claims,” writing that the news media “deserve better” than the “uncivilized” conduct alleged, but concluded Goyette failed to show an ongoing imminent threat of irreparable harm.
