New York University won’t face claims it knowingly deceived students who enrolled in its Tisch Asia performing arts program after a federal judge on Tuesday dismissed a lawsuit brought by a class of former students.
Students who attended NYU’s now-closed Tisch School of the Arts, Asia, alleged the university induced them to enroll with promises that the Singapore-based program would be equal to the renowned Tisch fine arts program in New York. Both programs charged the same annual tuition, but Tisch Asia students didn’t get the same education, professional training, or equipment as their New York counterparts, they alleged.
