NFL Relief Plan for Players Harmed by Race Norming Due Oct. 15

The NFL, class counsel for former players, and intervening retired Black players must submit by mid-month a proposed agreement to provide relief to Black players harmed by the use of racial norms in assessing qualification for concussion benefits.

The mediating parties must file a proposed settlement by Oct. 15, after which the court will announce a procedure for soliciting input from class members, Judge Anita B. Brody of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania ruled Oct. 1.
