Mattress Maker, Retailers Sued Over Alleged Glass Fiber Danger

Zinus Inc. and retailers Amazon, eBay, Target, Walmart, and Wayfair are facing a new proposed class action alleging that several popular models of Zinus’ mattresses are defective and can release dangerous glass fibers.

Amanda Chandler and Robert Durham allege that when the removable outer cover of the mattress is unzipped, it exposes the inner cover, which contains a large percentage of glass fibers as a fire retardant. If there’s even a small tear in the inner cover, it can release these fibers into the environment, Chandler and Durham claim.
