Matco Tools Fails to Escape Proposed Class Suit Over Data Breach

Matco Tools Corp. must face most claims of a proposed class action alleging it negligently failed to protect the personal information of more than 14,000 employees and customers that was exposed in a 2022 data breach.

The four lead plaintiffs adequately pleaded claims of negligence, breach of implied contract, unjust enrichment, and declaratory judgment, Judge David A. Ruiz of the US District Court for the Northern District of Ohio said Tuesday.
