Lender Snap Finance’s Breach Settlement Nets Attorneys $500,000

Lender Snap Finance LLC will pay $1.8 million to settle class action allegations that the company failed to adequately protect customer’s personal information from a November 2022 data breach affecting more than 60,000 people.

Judge Ted Stewart granted final approval of the lease-to-own financer’s settlement agreement on Tuesday in the US District Court for the District of Utah.

Class counsel are set to receive $540,000 in attorneys fees and over $9,000 to cover expenses, while eight named plaintiffs representing the class landed $2,500 each in service awards.
