LaserShip Owes Delivery Drivers Overtime Pay, Lawsuit Alleges

LaserShip Inc. misclassified package delivery drivers as independent contractors when they’re actually employees, and it owes them overtime pay, a new suit alleges in federal court in Georgia.

The last-mile delivery firm pays its drivers as independent contractors, but they’re actually “employees subject to an extremely high degree of control and supervision,” and are therefore entitled to overtime, three workers tell the US District Court for the Northern District of Georgia in a proposed collective action.
