Kroger Consumers Seek Approval for Bread Crumb False Ad Deal

Kroger Co. consumers in California asked a federal court in the state to preliminarily approve an $801,000 settlement resolving allegations the grocery chain misleadingly marketed bread crumbs as having “0g Trans Fat Per Serving” even though they were made with partially hydrogenated oil, a type of trans fat.

If approved by Judge Jeffrey T. Miller of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, the deal would end more than five years of litigation.
