Kinder Morgan Predecessor Pension Trial Gets Called Off by Judge

A lawsuit saying Kinder Morgan Inc. mishandled pension benefits for longtime employees of the energy infrastructure company’s subsidiaries will be resolved without a trial.

Judge Keith P. Ellison on July 5 canceled upcoming deadlines in the case, along with a non-jury trial that was scheduled to begin in early August. Ellison, who sits in the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas, said his forthcoming decision on the parties’ respective motions for summary judgment would “obviate the need for a trial.”
