Juul Labs Inc. must face a wage lawsuit brought by canvassers and phone bankers who were hired by the “Yes on C” campaign, which sought to overturn San Francisco’s ban on vape sales, after a federal judge in California refused to throw out the case.
Maria de la Luz Bautista-Perez and others filed the proposed class action against Juul, the Coalition for Reasonable Vaping Regulations, and others alleging that they failed to pay minimum wages, overtime wages, and wages due at termination. The plaintiffs say Juul funded and operated the campaign.
