Johnson & Johnson Faces Aveeno False Advertising Suit

Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies Inc. falsely advertises certain Aveeno products as able to relieve stress, according to a new federal lawsuit.

Yajaira Sullivan claims the company advertises its Aveeno Stress Relief Moisturizing Lotion and Aveeno Stress Relief Body Wash Products as able to calm users’ stress through their “relaxing scents.”

In reality though, “every sound and reliable study has demonstrated that aromatherapy with lavender, chamomile, and ylang ylang are no better than a placebo at providing stress relief,” Sullivan says.
