Jack in the Box Hit With Bias Suit Over Late Night Drive-Thrus

Jack in the Box Inc.'s late-night restaurant drive-thru policies discriminate against visually impaired patrons, who can’t independently access service, a new proposed class suit in federal court in California alleges.

During the restaurant chain’s late evening and early morning operating times, patrons aren’t allowed to physically enter the restaurants and must access Jack in the Box products via drive-thru windows.

But Jack in the Box prohibits pedestrians from using the drive-thrus, and restaurant policy is to refuse service to anyone who walks up to a drive-thru, the suit in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California alleges. ...
