Inmates’ Sex Acts Spur Lawsuit by Female Illinois Prison Workers

The Illinois Department of Corrections and Wexford Health Sources Inc. foster a sexually hostile work environment at the state’s Pontiac Correctional Center that includes rampant masturbation by inmates directed at female medical and mental health employees, according to a federal class lawsuit.

The suit filed Wednesday in the Northern District of Illinois seeks to represent at least 50 women who worked at the facility as nurses, medical technicians, clinical psychologists, mental health professionals, and in similar jobs at any time on or after June 23, 2018.
