IKEA ZIP Code Collection Case Wrongly Denied Class Status

IKEA US Retail LLC will have to face revived class claims that it violated California’s Song-Beverly Credit Card Act by asking for ZIP codes to complete credit card transactions, a California appeals court said Dec. 19.

The long-running case was first filed in federal court where it was certified as a class action in 2012 and decertified in 2014. It was dismissed after the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2016 standing decision.
