Hyatt Hit With Long Beach ‘Housekeepers’ Bill of Rights’ Lawsuit

Hyatt Hotels Corp. allegedly violated a local law that regulates hotel housekeepers’ workloads in Long Beach, Calif., according to a proposed class action filed in state court.

In what appears to be the first lawsuit brought under a “Housekeepers’ Bill of Rights” law, Hyatt failed to pay room attendants the required double wages when their workloads exceeded the threshold set by the Long Beach ordinance, two housekeepers claimed in their class complaint filed Wednesday.
