HPE Judge Allows Depositions of Company Lawyers, Advisers (1)

The judge reviewing the US Justice Department’s settlement allowing Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co.’s acquisition of Juniper Networks Inc. said he will let states challenging the deal interview under oath the lawyers and advisers the companies hired.

US District Judge Casey Pitts in San Jose, California, said during a hearing Monday a group of state attorneys general can interview two lawyers, William Levi and Mike Davis, and a consultant, Arthur Schwartz, as part of the states’ examination of what led federal antitrust enforcers to greenlight the merger.
