Home Depot Passes Off Inferior Wood as Mahogany, Suit Says

Home Depot deceived legions of customers by passing off inferior wood as mahogany, according to a proposed consumer class suit.

Californian Clyde Golden seeks money damages as well as injunctive relief, such as marketing changes, according to the Jan. 5 complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.

The suit against the home improvement giant joins scores of consumer fraud suits involving foods, dietary supplements, and personal care products.

A large part of Home Depot’s nearly $90 billion in annual revenue is derived from the sale of lumber and wood products, according to the complaint.
