Google Loses Bid for Appellate Look at Search Sharing Injury

Google can’t immediately appeal whether users suffered enough of an injury to pursue their ten-year-old class action over the sharing of their search terms with third-party web service providers, a San Francisco federal judge said.

Judge Edward J. Davila’s order denied Google’s request to allow interlocutory appeal, concluding nothing exceptional enough existed about his finding of standing to merit an exception to the general rule that only final judgments may be appealed.
