GM Resolves Proposed Class Lawsuit Over Cadillac Online Tracker

General Motors LLC reached a resolution to end a suit brought by a plaintiff who alleged that the automaker violated his privacy rights by installing online trackers from Google and Meta Platforms on its primary Cadillac digital storefront.

Peter Dawidzik said the online trackers were pen registers or trap and trace devices used without consent, in violation of the California Invasion of Privacy Act, according to his class action complaint in the US District Court for the Central District of California.
