Geico is facing allegations that it violated the Fair Labor Standards Act and Massachusetts wage law by failing to pay overtime to at least 50 claims adjusters, according to a lawsuit filed Wednesday in a federal court in Boston.
The proposed class and collective action was brought by Marc Pugliese, who worked as an adjuster in Massachusetts, on behalf of similarly situated employees.
Geico, which is legally registered as Government Employees Insurance Co., subjected these employees to a number of company-wide policies and practices that deprived them of overtime pay for hours worked beyond 40 per week, the complaint alleges. ...
