Febreze Smells Great Until It Ruins Your Car Interior, Suit Says

Febreze car air fresheners routinely leak, damaging interiors, vents, and dashboards, according to a proposed class action filed against The Proctor & Gamble Co. in the Northern District of California.

The Monday complaint alleges that P&G “actively concealed” a known defect in its Febreze automotive air-fresheners, which causes the cartridges to leak an oily and apparently corrosive substance that can eat away and destroy surfaces.

P&G has received numerous complaints since 2015, including many posted to one of its company-sponsored websites that promotes Febreze products, but hasn’t done anything to reimburse consumers or to warn them of the issue. It ...
