FabFitFun Reaches Preliminary Settlement in Data Breach Case

FabFitFun Inc. reached a preliminary deal with plaintiffs over its alleged role in a 2020 data breach, agreeing to devote $625,000 to a settlement fund.

The Los Angeles-based e-retailer continues to deny allegations of wrongdoing as part of the deal, according to the motion for preliminary approval of class action settlement filed Feb. 19 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.

FabFitFun—which sells subscriptions to seasonal boxes containing clothing and beauty products—was sued in October 2020 following a security incident that compromised shoppers’ personal data, including payment card information.
