Experian Settles Class Claims Over Social Security Numbers

Experian has agreed to settle putative class Fair Credit Reporting Act claims alleging it improperly rejected credit report accuracy disputes by requiring customers to first provide their Social Security Numbers to verify their identities (James v. Experian Info. Solutions, Inc., E.D. Va., No. 3:12-cv-00902-REP, proposed settlement).
