Encyclopaedia Britannica Inc. violated the California Invasion of Privacy Act by installing tracking technologies from third parties like Facebook on its website, according to a new class action filed in federal court.
Daniel Vesely alleged the installation violates the state law’s prohibition on pen registers and trap and trace devices in the complaint filed Sept. 9 in the US District Court for the Central District of California.
