Eli Lilly Accused of Age Bias in Sales-Representative Hiring

Eli Lilly & Co. discriminates against older applicants for pharmaceutical sales representative positions, according to a potential class action filed Wednesday in federal court in Indiana.

“Eli Lilly prefers not to hire, and actively eliminates from consideration for hire solely on the basis of their age,” people older than 40 for jobs in its diabetes and primary care business units, according to a complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana.
