Driveline Retail Merchandising Inc. won’t have to face an employee class over a data breach that allegedly exposed the personal information of nearly 16,000 workers, following an Illinois federal court’s ruling that individual issues would dominate the litigation.
Although liability-related issues are common to the proposed class, individual inquiries about causation and employee damages made certification impractical, the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois said Tuesday.
