Disabled New Yorkers Sue MTA to Fix Subway Gaps (1)

A group of New Yorkers are suing the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, demanding the transit provider fix the gaps between many subway platforms and trains saying they can be dangerous for riders with disabilities.

The potential class-action lawsuit was filed Tuesday in New York County Supreme Court. New York Lawyers for the Public Interest, a not-for-profit law firm, is representing three women who are disabled and avoid the subway out of fear of falling in the gaps or having a wheelchair trapped on the train.
