Dignity Health got a Nevada federal judge to approve a $950,000 settlement resolving class claims that the hospital provider improperly deducted final wages from more than 130 healthcare workers in Clark County.
The workers alleged that Dignity got them to sign illegal agreements allowing it to withhold or deduct wages from their last paychecks and paid time-off payouts upon termination, purportedly to repay costs associated with residency, relocation, and tuition assistance programs.
The class members will split about $389,000. Class counsel will get $310,000 in attorneys’ fees and about $145,450 for costs.
