Deepwater Damages Claim Against BP for $77 Million Sent Back for Redo

A $77 million settlement award against BP Exploration & Production Inc. over damages allegedly caused by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill must be reconsidered, according to the Fifth Circuit, which held that a trial court must investigate whether there was a superseding cause for the losses.
