A deputy marshal at the D.C. Superior Court tested positive for coronavirus in the latest unsettling news for courts nationwide scrambling to respond to fast-moving developments around the worsening pandemic.
The trial-level court was told of the diagnosis by the U.S. Marshals Service late Tuesday, court spokeswoman Leah Gurowitz said on Wednesday.
“As a result, we immediately notified those court staff who may have had contact with the deputy marshal and had both courtrooms and the holding cells that adjoin them thoroughly cleaned and disinfected,” she said.
